Getting the funds together to attend SNC can be tricky at times. Here are a few tips of things past attendees and organizations have done to raise the money to get here:

• Sponsorships from local businesses: Create a letter asking for help sending you to a 4-day conference that will give you the tools and skills to be a better leader, mentor and difference-maker in your community.
• Creative fundraising: Think outside the box! There are a ton of great fundraising ideas floating around the internet. A simple search for “youth group fundraising ideas” should get you on the right track. Some ideas that have worked for past participants include:

o   Lotto-style scratch cards with specific donation amounts
o   Silent auction & spaghetti dinner
o   Car washes
o   Group babysitting
o   Cell phone recycling

• Friends and family donations: Call your friends and family and see if they’ll help you out. Participants in the past have even asked that people send them to SNC for their birthday or Christmas gift!
• Local grants: Banks, foundations, hospitals, insurance companies, and corporations in your area are probably giving away money to good causes. See if you qualify.

The key to fundraising is to start early! Don’t wait until a month before SNC to begin. Happy fundraising!
